Lyophilized TGF-β3 remains bioactive, stable and sterile after > 2 years storage in the freezer
Transforming growth factor-beta 3 (TGF-β3) is a member of the TGF-beta family. TGF-β controls the differentiation of many cell lineages and regulate cell growth and differentiation. In cell culture, TGF-β3 maintains the pluripotency of embryonic stem cells (ESC) and induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC). It can also induce the differentiation of cartilage and muscle cells.
Qkine TGF-β3 (Qk054) is animal origin-free, carrier protein-free and tag-free to ensure high and consistent bioactivity.
Qkine TGF-β3 > 2 years stability
- TGF-β3 stored at -80 °C for > 2 years (EC50 54.75 pg/ml) showed no difference in bioactivity compared to the newest available batch (47.87 pg/ml).
- SDS-PAGE showed no degradation of TGF-β3 was visible after > 2 years.
- Sterility tested showed no contamination after storage at -80 °C for > 2 years.
TGF-β3 remained stable and bioactive after > 2 years storage in the freezer. (A) Bioactivity was determined using a TGF-β3-responsive firefly luciferase reporter assay; transfected HEK293T cells were treated in triplicate with a serial dilution of TGF-β3 (Qk054) stored at -80 °C for > 2 years (green, > 2 years) or from the newest available batch (black, Control). Firefly luciferase activity was measured and normalized to control Renilla luciferase activity. (B) Lyophilized protein was stored at -80 °C for > 2 years. 3 µg was resolved on a 15% w/v SDS-PAGE gel under non-reduced conditions and stained with Coomassie Brilliant Blue R250.
