Qkine IL-2 14 day stability
- IL-2 stored at stored at room temperature (EC50 0.11 ng/ml) didn’t lose bioactivity compared to -80 °C storage (EC50 0.14 ng/ml).
- No loss of activity was seen with IL-2 stored at room temperature with multiple freeze thaws (EC50 0.19 ng/ml) compared to -80°C (control, EC50 0.18 ng/ml).
- SDS-PAGE showed no degradation of IL-2 was visible after 14 days under these conditions.
IL-2 remained stable and bioactive for 14 days at room temperature and with multiple freeze-thaws. Bioactivity was determined using a SRE luciferase reporter assay in transiently transfected HEK293T cells co-transfected with the IL-2 receptors (IL-2Rβ and IL-2Rγ). Cells were treated in triplicate for 3 hours with a serial dilution of IL-2 (Qk089). (A) Stored at room temperature (RT) or -80 °C (control). (B) Stored at room temperature with 4 freeze-thaw cycles (RT/FT) or -80°C (control). Firefly luciferase activity was measured and normalized. (C) 3 µg was resolved on a 15% w/v SDS-PAGE gel under non-reduced conditions and stained with Coomassie Brilliant Blue R250. Data from Qk089 lot #204781.
