Fibroblast growth factor 19 (FGF-19), a member of the FGF family, plays a role in regulating metabolic processes. FGF-19 is expressed by embryonic stem cells and can be used in stem cell and organoid cultures to promote liver and osteogenic differentiation.

Qkine FGF-19 bioactivity
- Qkine FGF-19 (Qk086) was bioactive in a quantitative assay with an EC50 of 8.8 ng/ml (0.4 nM).
- This was comparable to the bioactivity of FGF-19 from an alternative supplier, which had an EC50 of 9.9 ng/ml (0.45 nM).
Qkine FGF-19 had comparable bioactivity to a alternative supplier protein. Recombinant FGF-19 activity was determined using a FGF-19-responsive firefly luciferase reporter assay. Transfected HEK293T cells were treated in triplicate with a serial dilution of Qkine FGF-19 (Qk086, green) or Peprotech FGF-19 (100-32, Supplier B, black) for 3 hours. Firefly activity was measured and normalized to the control Renilla luciferase activity. Data from Qk086 lot #204724.
